This achievement surpassed sales of the iPhone 4S debut in 2011, when Apple sold 4 million units of the iPhone 4S in 3 day.With achievements, the iPhone 5 back carve record after record for booking early (pre-order) as many as 2 million units in just 24 hours.

Initial sales of the iPhone 5 was held in 9 countries, namely the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. On the inaugural day of the sale, iPhone 5 sold in some countries.

"Demand for iPhone 5 extraordinarily high, and we are working hard to bring iPhone 5 into the hands of every customer as soon as possible," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a press release on Monday (09/24/2012).

Quoted from Time news portals, market analyst Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets said Apple can actually sell 6 mill ion to 6.5 million units of iPhone 5 in the first three days. He said shortages of the iPhone 5 is due to the limited amount of supplies.

iPhone 5 will be sold in 22 countries on 28 October. At the end of the year, this smartphone will visit 100 other countries.

Since its launch in 2007, the iPhone has become Apples flagship product. How not iPhone sales during the year 2011 reached 53 percent of Apples total revenue. The remaining revenue was contributed by the Apple iPad (20 percent), Mac (14 percent), iPod (5 percent), iTunes (4 percent), and other (3 percent).

Apples record profits during the year 2011 amounted to 13.06 billion U.S. dollars, up 118 percent from the same period in 2010.
