Huaweis sub-brand Honor launched the dual-camera toting Honor 6X, globally last month, and went on sale in India yesterday. It runs Android Marshmallow based EMUI 4.1. But now the company has assured that it will roll out EMUI 5.0 along with Android 7.0 Nougat to Honor 6X next month.

Honor in a statement to Android Poice said: "The new EMUI for Honor 6X will be arriving next month, and it’s been updated based on co nsumer feedback. In case you or your team is planning a full review any time soon, it might be worthwhile to wait!" 

The roll-out plans is likely for the U.S and European markets. As for India, Honor at the launch event of Honor 6X revealed that the smartphone will get Android Nougat in Q2 2017 (April, May, June).

To refresh, the Honor 6X is a budget smartphone with dual 12MP + 2MP cameras, 5.5-inch Full HD display, octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 8MP front camera, 4G LTE and 3340mAh battery. It is available in two variants 3GB RAM/32GB storage priced at Rs. 12,999, and 4GB RAM/64GB storage costing Rs. 15,999.

Honor has already started rolling out Android Nougat to Honor 8. Indian units are yet to receive the update. The brand also recently launched Honor 8 Lite running Android Nougat based EMUI 5.0 in Finland.
