Apple unveiled the 2016 line up of MacBook Pro models equipped with sixth-generation Intel Core processors in October last year. The top-end MacBook Pro model with 15-inch display packed 16GB RAM. Now it appears that Apple will double the RAM in its upoming MacBook, as well as upgrade the processor.

Well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo in a note to investors suggests the next gen Apple MacBooks will get seventh generat ion Intel Core Kaby lake processor. Kuo also says that the 15-inch MacBook Pro will get a new 32GB RAM option in addition to 16GB, aimed at high-end professional users. The 12-inch MacBook will also get a RAM upgrade and include a 16GB RAM option.

The first MacBook to get Kaby Lake upgrade will be the 12-inch MacBook, and its production will start in Q2 this year, while the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro models (equipped with Kaby Lake) will go into production in the third quarter.

The new 15-inch MacBook Pro aimed at high-end users with Kaby Lake chip and 32GB RAM will enter mass production in Q4, 2017.

Kuo believes that Apple MacBook Pro shipments will grow during 2017 as the demand for the MacBook model with Touch Bar is better than expected. However, the 13-inch non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro has not performed well and is likely to get a price cut from Apple.
